My hat is off to Liu Yuan, Hu Jintao, Wen Jiabao, Zhang Youxia, Wang Yang, and Hu Chunhua for derailing Xi Jinping who clearly wanted to become another Mao. Now I’m concerned the US isn’t leading our Western allies in an effort to constructively engage China’s leaders to dismantle ALL the political warfare mechanism put in place by what I call the Ye-Xi Clique. A great opportunity has emerged and we have to strike while the iron is hot.
I am startled by the claims here that seem to imply that the momentum towards displacing Xi's autocratic control is well underway and likely to succeed. If so, what would we have instead? Would rule by consensus, as described, necessarily be better from the viewpoint of the general population in China? How would it impact minorities in China? Geopolitical conflicts and alliances?
